Lately we've seen mega-gambling inserted into games, and not just F2P games, but full price AAA games, even single player ones. Remember when Mass Effect took flak for release-day DLC? Now hardly anyone talks about things like this. I'm looking at gaming recently, and frankly it's terrifying. Yes, because not only does it half the cost of purchasing the base game by itself, and its DLC separately, but its an absolute blast to play through.
I don't know, I think they figured that if they keep trying and remain really persistent, eventually it'll slip through and they can go to town after that, having set the precedent.
